Dodge Develops Cooling System Using the Air Conditioner for Challenger Demon SRT

The Dodge lineup always is coming up with new ways to unleash power and let vehicles like the Challenger really feel the need for speed. It’s always wonderful because having cars that appeal to those of us who love some All-American muscle is a great thing, and that’s what the new Dodge Challenger Demon SRT does, with one very cool innovation.

The Challenger Demon SRT, with the iconic HEMI V8 engine provides the first production application of a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system. What the heck does that mean? Well, basically the car’s air conditioning system is used to cool the air going into the engine, dropping temperatures by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. So, the more cool air the engine is getting, the more powerful it can be, as this is acting as an intercooler when the vehicle is in drag mode so it can really get that burst of speed out.

Pretty cool, literally and figuratively, right? We certainly think so at Rancho Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. If you want to learn more about it, and the many other options we have in the Dodge Challenger lineup, along with its muscle car counterpart, the Charger, we’d be happy to provide you with more details and arrange test drives here in our San Diego showroom today.
