Chrysler Service FAQs at Kearny Mesa CDJR

August 4th, 2020 by

If you aren’t a new vehicle owner, it’s no secret that your car needs routine maintenance. However, there are so many components to Chrysler service. It can be tough to remember what you need and when you need it completed. We’re answering some of our frequently asked service questions at Kearny Mesa Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM.

How Often Do I Need an Oil Change?

In short, it depends. How often you should change your oil depends on your vehicle and how you drive it. Certain harsh conditions, such as extreme temperatures, can decrease your oil’s lifespan. Also, if you don’t regularly drive your vehicle, or take many very short trips, your oil should be changed more often.

What are the Other Essential Fluids Under My Hood?

Your vehicle also has other essential fluids under the hood that are vital to its operation. They need to be regularly checked and filled. These fluids include:

  • Engine oil
  • Transmission fluid
  • Coolant
  • Radiator fluid
  • Windshield wiper fluid
  • Brake fluid
  • Power steering fluid

When Do I Need to Replace My Tires?

This is another answer that depends on your vehicle and driving habits. Tires should, at least, be changed every six to 10 years, according to the NHTSA. You also want to keep an eye on your tire’s performance. Is your tread adequate for the traction you need? You also want to make sure your tires are holding pressure. If you notice one that is frequently low or seems to have a leak, it’s time for a replacement.

The trained technicians at our San Diego Chrysler dealership can help you determine the service schedule your Chrysler vehicle requires. We are ready and waiting to help keep you safe on the road!
