2022 Dodge Challenger Overview

This sizable two-door couple has long been a favorite of modern muscle-car lovers. Known as the only car of its build to offer all-wheel drive, the 2022 Dodge Challenger offers a smooth, comfortable ride, all while packing a powerful variety of engine options under the hood.

Trim levels for the new model year are as follows:

• R/T
• R/T Scat Pack
• R/T Scat Pack Widebody

Powertrains and Fuel Efficiency

Base models of the 2022 Dodge Challenger feature a V6 engine that makes 305 horsepower, which pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This model can achieve up to 30 MPG on the highway and 19 MPG in the city with rear-wheel drive. With an 18.5-gallon tank, it’s a great candidate for long drives and commutes.

R/T models see an upgrade to one of two Hemi V8 engines: a 5.7-liter version that makes 375 horsepower, and a larger 6.4-liter iteration that rocks out 485 horsepower. A standard manual transmission can be upgraded to a ZF automatic system.

These larger engines drop fuel efficiency to 18 MPG combined, but that’s still an impressive feat for the Dodge Challenger’s size and power.
